Laura Lea -
You could use it as a deflocculated decorating slip, but it's not a terra
sig. Deflocculating a slip is just the very first step in the process of
making a proper terra sig. Please refer to my article on terra sig at
http://iweb.tntech.edu/wpitelka/professional/terra_sig.htm for
clarification.
Good luck -

Hello

I was blessed with vast amounts of low fire Cone 06 casting slip when I
purchased my kiln. I fire to cone 6 with the glazes I use though so I am not
able to use this slip for my glaze fire.

however. . . I want to make a white terra sig for raku/pitt firing, and
since casting slip has a deflocculant, technically i could use this as a
terra sig. Right??

( I do minimal casting work and am more interested in this terra sig idea)

My questions. . . does anyone know or think of a reason that this should not
work?
What does one do with the clay left at bottom of the barrel?
Should I just shuttup and try it? yes I think so . . . .

thanks for the replies and I appreciatte your help!
