For those wishing such a devise, you can check the archives (or just
google) "ClayArt Glaze Jet" for a do-it-yourself version I posted a
while back. I have used one for years and it works great. It's made
from easy to find parts at the hardware store. It can be made to fit a
5 gal bucket or larger container.

Gordon is right, it is easy to make your own fountain glazer, and you will
save yourself $500. However, the one made by RAM is really nice, has a
non-rusting aluminum pump body, and to clean, you just attach a garden hose
to it, there is no need for disassembly. It's indispensable to me.

Thanks Gordon,

I love this. I am tempted to try and design on similar but
different. A big bowl that sits on the top of glaze buckets, with the
pipe and/or bellow submerged into the bucket. The question is how to
get the pedal hose connected to the bellows. Just a hole in the bowl
and gasketted fittings I suppose. But that would pretty sweet to just
stick this into the bucket, and glaze the insides of so many pots so
quickly. I've never seen or heard of such a thing. I did the
googling, and for the benefit of others, here's the link to Gordons
old post.

Hi Mark,

If you need a wider container, you can make one to fit. The PVC just
pulls apart so you can make lengths of pipe for just about any size
container. The whole thing can be made rust proof using a stainless or
brass shaft. If the glaze gets low in the bucket, you need to sort of
"tease" the glaze up (with a couple of short pulls) into the large
vertical piece of PVC, and then you have plenty of volume when you
flush the glaze out.

Like the Fountain Glazer you can clean the Glaze Jet with a hose, but
it is nice to pull it apart if you have any glazes that tend to settle
badly. You could devise something with a bowl, but there seems like a
lot more to clean up when you are finished glazing. The main
difference is that you do not have both hands free as you do with the
Fountain Glazer. Some clever person might be able to rig up a foot
pedal though. I haven't felt the need up to this point.

I'd love to hear about any innovations you might come up with. Feel
free to ask about any details. I've made them a number of different
ways. I now secure mine to the bucket using a spring clamp held to the
Glaze Jet with a hose clamp.

I bought one of those plastic hand pump like the one we used
when we had to refill our kerosene heater. I haven't tried it
yet to see if it works. It probably wouldn't work on large pieces...
but might on small bowls, cups but then why bother using it on
small pieces?

you all were talking about making a bucket glazer here is a bucket pump system(see WEB site) intended to fill slip molds seems to me easy to hook a bowl to this and it has pump hooked to the bucket lid already to go for us non doityourself builder types .

WOW!! Incredible!!! Way cool! Thanks for the link, Evelyn!

Up to 4 gallons a minute! At a rate of flow like that, I can just
see Dolita loading the bucket with Hershey's syrup and whipped
cream, and inviting her hubby into her studio to go "play"!

Come to think of it... I might just have to get one and do that
myself (but I couldn't be inviting Dolita's husband.)

For you looking at fountains and buckets and all that rigmarole this might
be a good source for the equipment you need to build your own glazer, or
that thing Wayne was talking about with the syrup!

That's it! I give up. First Wayne wants me up on the roof with Mel, then
he wants me in the studio doing some strange thing with chocolate syrup and
a fountain glazer. If you ask me, we need to get Joe and Wayne together, at
least for a weekend. I am worried about him.
