Tiles indeed. I am so into these tiles I found!. Then one day I
discovered and I bought these tiles at the Rebuilding Center in
Portland. It is a place where you can get used and donated building
materials. I got like 80 of 'em for $6.00! Anyway here is the
description of them. I just picture them and I get so happy!

They have never been used. They are quite thin-close to 1/4".
They have a slight belly to them. On the back there are varying degrees
of darkness. As if when they were fired they were staggered in a tile
setter. They are a terra cotta type clay. You can tell they were hand
dipped in glaze because they have /dribbles. / Maybe they are from
Malibu or Mexico or Italy. I will never know but it makes them so much
more alluring because I know they are from somewhere and that someone
pounded them out.

It makes my mouth water because I wish that I could use that lead glaze
on my earthen ware pots without the risk. It really is like butter.
Have fun at the tile show. I am lucky to live in Portland because when I
need a tile fix I can go to many a tile pile here. Pratt and Larson,
Anne Sachs, or afore mentioned rebuilding center. Or I can make my own.

yay!
Kristin

Kristin- Bingo! You hit the mother load! Great! Ain't tiles the cat's
meow? I meant to mention that the reason we were hand pounding clay tile
molds was because they were all relief tiles. We had fish jumping out of
the water on tiles as well as numerous Maya icon's in relief.
With your stash, you are going to really excel, I can tell! Send us a pic's
when you get on a roll!
