I just spent 5 lushious days at Peters Valley (NJ) in
a "surface alteration" etc class. It was presented by
Randy Brodnax and we had a roaring blast while
learning an intense amount about firing technics and
interesting surface treatments.
Randy has built a kiln on wheels which is fired with
gas. Easy to store, easy to take places. I'd say it
was about 24 x 24 x 36? (not good visualizing
measurements). Took a good number of firings. It can
be used for bisque firing, raku and what-have-you. If
I hadn't just bought a gas kiln, that one would be it,

He doesn't use cones, only visual and taught us to do
the same thing (except for the woodkiln, which he
built in 30 minutes with some help). It worked
beautifully - no mistakes in many firings.

If you're interested (he lives in Dallas, Texas), I
can give you further information. There is a
considerable waiting time, I believe.
