Valice Raffi's BlueMoon Studio presents
Ian Currie - "Revealing Glazes, Using the Grid Method"
September 24 & 25, 2005

Ian Currie will give a two-day workshop at Valice Raffi's BlueMoon Studio
in Las Cruces. Author of "Revealing Glazes; Using the Grid Method", and
"Stoneware Glazes; A Systematic Approach", Ian lives and works in
Queensland, Australia.

The workshop will take participants through the recipe-based grid method of
understanding and developing glazes, no previous understanding of chemistry
neccessary! Ian has said that there will be "no potter left behind!"

Beginning Saturday morning, participants will create 4-5 sets of glazes
(approximately 175 individual glazes). Test tiles will be fired at ^6
overnight. On the second day, the participants will be able to see and
discuss the results and explore possiblilities for future testing using
different materials and different tempuratures. Ian will give a slide
show, lecture on glaze theory, and talk about his work.

Las Cruces is at the southern end of the State, surrounded by beautiful
mountains and located on the Rio Grande river. That same weekend is the
Whole Enchilada Fiesta, when mariachi music plays and the largest enchilada
in the world (Guiness Book of World Records) will be cooked and served up.

Las Cruces is close to the El Paso, Tx airport and blocks of rooms have
been set aside at local hotels.

Cost: $245.00 includes all materials and lunches. Workshop is limited to
16 participants.
