It was such a pleasure having David Hendley here at the Craft Center =
last week teaching a workshop. His dear wife Karen came with him and =
took a fibers workshop. She is such a peach. The workshop seems to =
have been a great success. They were very productive, and completed =
several bisque firings and a soda firing.

For me, it was just a great pleasure getting to hang out with Karen and =
David. We went swimming in Center Hill Lake twice. David jumped off =
the cliff. Karen and I and one of the workshop participants watched. =20

On Thursday evening David and I did an impromptu "coffee house" in the =
dining hall, and played our guitars and sang songs for several hours. =
Many of you are familiar with David's "Cobalt Blues," and he blessed us =
with a spirited rendition. He did a wonderful ecclectic assortment of =
tunes, and every one was a winner. He has a fine voice, with lively =
rhythmic guitar backup. He is indeed a multitalented artist. =20

If you get a chance to go to one of David's workshops, or just an =
opportunity to hang out with him at an NCECA or whatever, don't miss the =
opportunity.

When I think back on this summer, I will choose to remember it as the =
summer when I stayed at the Craft Center and thus got to hang out with =
Kelly Sovino, Josh DeWeese, David Hendley, and others. That's been fun.
