August Mini-Classes

DRESS UP YOUR UGLIES MINI-CLASS All Levels
*Thursdays (8/4 - 8/25), 7pm - 10pm, Rain Harris
$100 Member, $110 Non-Member
$20 material fee

Are you still holding on to some pieces that just didn't turn out the
way you hoped? Bring in those uglies and learn how to dress them up.
In this class students will learn how to transform their mistakes
using china paints, lusters and decals. Each week there will be a
different firing for each procedure. Shading, marbleizing, and line
techniques will be covered. Information on safety, firing and
material sources will also be covered. Students will receive their
own personal china paint kits that they can keep.

MULTIPLES II: TILES MINI-CLASS All Levels
*Thursdays (8/4 - 8/25), 10am - 1pm, Rob Raphael
$100 Member, $110 Non-Member

Students will work on the creation of one geometric field tile with
an embossed surface, pattern or design and will then produce a
plaster press mold. Multiple tiles will then be pressed in this newly
created mold and used in the creation of a frame or small tabletop.
The glazing, setting and grouting of your finished tiles will also be
addressed within the class. Students should bring to the 1st class a
design idea, keeping in mind that geometric designs that can be
rotated 90, 180 and/or 270 degrees will be useful in creating an
interesting finished piece.
