I am in the midst of new construction on a kiln room and remodel of our
old space and wondered about opinions from you great potters about the
surface of the floor...we have some brand spankin' new concrete floors
and was wondering if I could hear on whether you have your floors
sealed? Painted? Epoxy seal? Some fancy thing I don't even know about?
Or just the plain old concrete do it's thing?
I would appreciate any input....
Thanks-

The concrete should have been machine-polished while wet, resulting in a
sealed, maintenance-free surface. Probably too late for you, but maybe
others can benefit from this info.

I painted mine with a latex porch paint/sealer. My studio is a one-car
garage and I cleaned/etched the floor prior to painting.

If I ever do it again, I'll go with the epoxy seal.

Be sure to check with the concrete folks and ask how long the concrete
should dry before applying any coating.

There is a product called "durapoxy" that looks to be bulletproof. The
website is www.anupampaints.com. I have no experience with it, but have
thought that I might try it with my next studio. Perhaps a clayarterer has
tried it?
