Hello all,

I recently made my first visit to the Schein-Joseph International
Museum of Ceramic Art at Alfred University. They had just gotten in copies
of, "Val Cushing: A Life of Clay" produced by NCECA (2005) in DVD format.
The movie includes an introduction to Val Cushing followed by
demonstrations and a slide show of his work. Detailed demonstrations
include making a casserole and Val making one of his trademark roll top
forms with a lid. I found the movie very interesting and informative. I
have long enjoyed pictures of his work and it was wonderful to see him in
action. My only knock on the film is that it is hard to hear him clearly
through a couple of segments. I definitely recommend checking it out. If
you are interested in getting a copy contact the museum at 607-871-2421
or write them at ceramicsmuseum@alfred.edu. The purchase price for the
film was $30.00.

Have a good day,
