Cornell U provides a free database of MSDS information that seems to contai=
n=20
most of the oxides potters work with. The web site is:

http://msds.ehs.cornell.edu/msdssrch.asp

Start searching with "barium carbonate" or "litharge" to get an idea of wha=
t=20
a poison looks like. "Section 3" provides a summary of the health hazards=
=20
for a given material. I'm not an expert, but I do know that "LD50" is the=
=20
standard "Lethal Dose" (perhaps kills off 50% at that does?).=20

Happy reading...
