has anyone been to la loba ranch?

I'm looking into trying to take a workshop this summer - a bit late, I've
realized now.
There are still some spaces in some workshops at La Loba Ranch - but it
seems expensive. Has anyone been to a workshop there? was it worth the
cost?

thanks,

Cindy

Yes, I was there several years ago.

It is an isolated place with the studio below and
living quarters above.
You walk next door to meals on the patio/deck
of the main house.

There is only one class running at a time so you
don't get to see other crafts in progress.

Reserve a rental car before you go if you
want some freedom to get into town when you
want to go.

I prefer more hustle and bustle ... with classes in
other crafts going on so I can see glassmakers ...
basket makers, woodworkers ... I am very nosey
I guess.

hi cindy -

i took a workshop there with suze lindsay in 2003 and yes, laloba ranch
is worth it. i agree that it's expensive, but the facilities were new
in 2003... the accommodations are terrific, the food is really good and
plentiful (and they can deal with food allergies or strong dislikes).
the setting is to die for. judie and biz are FABULOUS hosts. we had a
really good group of participants in my workshop - and i was thrilled
to run into four of them at nceca this year.

if you can afford it, i'd say run and sign up. i can't imagine that
you'd be disappointed...
