easier glaze test method

No matter how efficient I am a group of tests takes me a long day.
But this is a vastly improved technique. Works well for 100 gram
batches.

This system requires two highlighting markers and a calculator.

I also have a box of glaze test materials in small baggies, separate
from large bags.

1) Tare a pint plastic bin (from the deli) on the gram scale.

2) Choose first material in recipe and highlight it with a marker.
There is now no question which ingredient is being used. Weigh it
out in tared container. When it is done double-check that weight is
correct, then highlight that material with a contrasting color marker
(I use yellow first and any darker color handy second.)

3) Turn container so that an empty portion is toward you. Add
second material to the same bin, different area. Use calculator to
make sure that increments of weight are done correctly.

As materials accumulate in container, pick it up and shake everything
to one side so that you still have an empty space to work with.

When you are done you have the exact total weight in the scale that
is in the recipe.
There are no mistakes.

4) When everything is weighed out I remove it from scale and tare
another like container and add 100 grams of water. I add water to my
test until it seems right and then sieve it with my handy tiny sieve
into a measuring cup and use more of the water to get it all through.

5) After doing test tile I pour the glaze into a resealable baggie.
Yes! Seal it carefully and put it into a plastic box.

I have been doing lots of tests lately. All the tests are in small
plastic boxes of little baggies it takes up no space and requires no
yogurt containers which was something I really hated about glaze
tests, all those (expletive here) containers to keep track of. So if
I want to retest a sample it is breezy.

Hope somebody decides to use this method. It is far more accurate
than weighing materials and putting into a different container.

Best, and back to work

I meant to write this out for myself so I am happy to write it down
for you all. I really hope somebody tries this method. I think it
is a great improvement.
