*PETER KING in Orangevale, CA
August 10-14 , 2005
The second time around and then some ....
The long awaited sequel to Peter's 2003 appearance has finally arrived.
We hope to see both new and familiar faces. It will be a great review
for those who have attended before, and an information packed workshop
for those who have not. For those of you who have attended before, Peter
will be glazing and installing work made in the 2003 workshop.
Peter is one of the pioneers of architectural ceramics. He produces
elaborate fireplaces, archways, columns and freestanding sculpture with
vibrant ornate features on a scale viewers are often unaccustomed to
seeing in ceramics. His work can be found in numerous public and private
spaces throughout the US.
In addition to Peter's usual repertoire of architectural ceramics
construction, *he will be sharing his base glaze recipes for both single
fire and cone 6. He will show us how the addition of oxides can achieve
almost any color. The first of the week we will be glazing and single
firing a green wall piece, showing how the finished glazes will look.
Mid week we will be glazing and firing the now bisqued fireplace we
built in the 2003 workshop. To top the week off, we will be installing
the completed fireplace. *
There will be an evening potluck and slide show midweek. Cost $500.00.
