Hi Everyone,

Last year I had the privilege to attend a workshop with Brian and see his
slides and I would encourage people to attend. Brian is a knowledgeable,
delightful man whose presentation was well worth the time, regardless of
your clay experience.

Brian Gartside will be giving 2 workshops while he is in the United States,
according to his web site, in addition to this lecture in San Francisco.

I don't know if there is still space in the Atlanta, GA workshop June 11th
and 12th, but I believe there is definitely room in the Petoskey, Michigan
workshop on June 15-17th. Check out
http://www.mudfire.com/ws_gartside20050611.htm for details of the types of
things Brian does, and phone the appropriate people in Atlanta or Petoskey
for information on their workshops.

Linda Blossom brought Brian to Ithaca, NY and ended up with enough people to
have 2 separate workshops! People ranging from very experienced, degreed
ceramics people to almost-new potters found a great deal of useful,
interesting information in Brian's presentation. I certainly found excellent
ideas and inspiration when I attended.

Check out Brian's work on his web site:

I was also privileged to attend a one-day workshop with our own Mel
Jacobson, and although I'd read his book, his magazine articles and his
postings on clayart for many years, I found a lot to learn and enjoy in
seeing him work in person. IMHO Mel is an excellent teacher and he has an
enormous amount of information to share, particularly for people who can use
help working more efficiently in producing pots. (Isn't this everyone? )
Mel certainly doesn't need my promotion of his workshop, but if you're
sitting on the fence, get off it and GO!

I've copied further information on Brian's workshops from his web site
below.
