In another life I taught highschool. Our principal insisted you teach with
your classroom door open. It was a good way for him to know what was going
on in there. You could walk by some teachers doors and see kids with heads
down sound asleep, some reading magazines, some chatting with friends, a
few of the well mannered kids wanting to go to university trying to stay
awake and the teacher oblivious to it all giving his/her lesson as if they
had the attention of all. If Clayart was a classroom of 3000 wouldn't it be
fun to open the door. Whose classroom has people visiting each day and who
is talking to themselves?
If you are not asking questions on Clayart I assume you see yourself in the
teaching role. A good teacher can tell when the class would rather be skiing
in Aspen, Colorado.
The more specific a topic the less will want to be in your class/workshop.
Nceca 5000 people, woodfire conference 250 people, zirconium encapsulated
cadium workshop 3 geeks and a wino..
I have often wondered if anyone on clayart is reading my nonsense. I wonder
if Vicki passed on this post cause of the heading? Surely she must have
thought what the hell is he on about. Attention getting, as always!
Just to let me know you read my stuff some of the time, please let me know
by posting David Hendley at david@farmpots.com. Put in the subject headline
Zirconium Encapsulated Cadium Workshop and nothing more.. I miss him and I
figure this will make him wonder what the hell is going on.
Cheers,
Tony

Tony!!!! While we are all hard at our keyboards, furiously either teaching or being taught, David is prolly at some clay event having a great time! Just last month he was sighted at the clay event in San Angelo playing guitar and entertaining everyone. Why right now he's prolly just out of Austin bound for San Antone with the radio blastin' and the bird dog on and having a good time! I'm not sure how many e-mails will get him back in the groove. You better move to phase two. Whatever that might be.

Vicki
In San Angelo fit to be tied, but still going to Star Wars. Can nothing get me out of this?????

Hi all in Clayart-land.
Yes, Tony Clennell misses me - He sent an e-mail yesterday
asking where I've been.
And, yes, I was surely taken aback today when, among all
my spam e-mails for viagra and lottery jackpots, there
were several "Zirconium Encapsulated Cadium Workshop"
messages.

I signed off Clayart and shut down my pottery shop about
3 weeks ago, and after a last fling vacation my wife
and I came to Dallas where she underwent hip replacement
surgery on May 10. Many of you know Karen, and I'm happy
to report that she is recovering well. She was released
from the hospital yesterday and is now being visited by
home-care nurses and physical therapists. We will return home next week and they will continue the home visits
for several more weeks.
I am looking forward to getting back to work, and will
turn Clayart back on at that time.
We are fortunate that my studio is next to the house, so
I will be able to work yet still be available for her if
needed and be able to check in on her throughout the day.

Thanks for the e-mails.
If you would like to send greetings to Karen, her
address is: karenhendley (the "at" sign) hotmail.com

Good grief Tony, you of all people don't need to wonder if anyone is reading
your posts! Yours is one of the names always mentioned by people who like to
list their favorite Clayart posters, and you are often given credit for your
way with words.

I almost didn't read this one, then saw it was from you and thought "Tony
does Cadmiium???" I miss David's letters too, but if he wants a break
for a while, fine...he'll be back, I hope.

There was one time I wrote to Clayart sharing a photo of something I made,
and not one person wrote & said "Hey, nice handle on that tray". (eucalyptus
root). If you missed it, click on "for Clayart" on my website. I didn't
feel totally bummed because there are many times I go look at something, and
never write that person. It's just too much to keep up with.

Good firing,
