solubles workshop

Hi Joyce. Nice to hear from you, and interesting timing for your
question... are you a wee bit psychic by any chance?

I just decided yesterday afternoon that it would be smart for me to
have a soluble workshop here at my studio in June as a
warm-up/prep/shakedown for the one at Linda Blossom's in July.
I figured that it would help me fine-tune things and anticipate any
potential glitches.

So, yes, I am going to do a workshop on solubles at my studio in
Berkeley, and here are the particulars:

-June 25th and 26th, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
-Cost is $125 per person, limited to 15 participants
-Workshop content will include information on mixing,
application, and firing of solubles on porcelain and
stoneware; use with terra sigillata; safety concerns;
storage and disposal; suppliers and costs; decorating
techniques - including brushwork, various resists,
examples and explanation of halo effects, transparent
color overlays, plus slides of my own and other
people's work with solubles.

There are several motels and quite a few pleasant restaurants
within 5 or 10 minutes of my studio. If you (or other west-coast
clayarters) decide to come, just call or email me off-list...

Thanks for the interest, Joyce. Hope you can attend... Gary

Dear Gary....
NOW I'd like to know if you're
offering a workshop on the left coast which would be
similar in content to the one you're giving at Linda
Blossom's.

I'll be attending several workshops during the rest
of '05. I'm looking for content specific, preferably
on our coast, with presenters who know what they're
doing.

Thank you for reading this, Gary. I'm looking forward
to your response.

Joyce
