Hi Ilene,
Generally, a crack (no matter where they occure) after a bisque-firing will actually expand and only get bigger with the final firing. You might be able to figure out how to close and patch it up, but I haven't yet. I think if it's actually about 1/2"-1" long it's going to be hard to close it up. Good luck!!
