warning - bad company to do business with

Sorry, unless they took your money and didn't refund it. I think you don't
really have much to complain about. And having said that, I think that your
trying to extort what you wanted out of them by threatening them with this
list is really in poor taste. They may have not been as nice as they could
have been, but you weren't either. I count it a wash.

Hey, all -

I had tried to order some add-on scale weights for my Ohaus balance beam
back on April 14.
I never got an email confirming or denying my order, which I thought was
strange, so I emailed
the company to check on it a couple of days ago. The name of the company is
Precision Weighing
Balances, and they are located in Bradford, MA.

I will admit that I didn't fully read both pages of my receipt or the fine
print in the shopping cart while
placing the order - just scanned it.

Below is the thread of emails we just sent back and forth. I think, for a
company who says on their website
that they are customer-friendly and want recommendations, they have a long
way to go with whoever this guy
Gary Shane is.

Be warned.

Gail, the term 'account executive' is a euphemism which in actuality means
'sales guy'. Call the store and ask to speak to the president, then forward
to him/her a copy of Gary's oh so nice emails. That will hopefully take
care of your problem.

Yes, I see it on the receipt. I only meant that that info should be included
in the product description. It would make perfect sense to do so, instead of
getting nasty with someone who might have considered purchasing a nicer,
more expensive digital scale in the future. Now, since I am a member of a
listserve of which there are about 3000 members, they will all know how you
treat your customers.

Thanks for the warning. You might also consider improving your grammar.

Please look at your original receipt and read it. If you can't find it
please click the buy button on the web page you referenced. It stated right
in your shopping cart "Ohaus 707-00 Attachment Weights to increase capacity
of triple beam from 610 to 2610 grams. We will only sell you the 707-00 if
you are buying a Ohaus triple beam from us at the same time "

Is there ANYTHING else I need to prove to you?? I know you'll still
attempt to outsmart me and prove I am right even though you think it is fine
to ignore whatever guidelines are imposed. My recommendation is to go back
to the vendor you original bought the triple beam from.

Have a great day.

No we only sell the attachment weights when you buy the triple beam at the
same time. We disclose this on our web site.

Earl -

I wasn't trying to extort anything out of this guy. I just wanted to be made aware that they had no intention of filling my order. They could have at least let me know, instead of letting me hang. I got nasty only after they did.

Hi Earl,

Ohhhh, golly...jeeeeeze, do you get your Grouchy-Pills from the same place
that I get mine??? ( Well, over-the-counter, generic ones for me, I am on a
budget...)

And then take them, too?

Lol...

Ohhhhhhhhhh, c'mon...the guy is a total schmuck and Gail is a sweeite...!

The guy totally blew off someone who would be a happy, ideal, positive
customer for his wares. And made unpleasantness where fun or neat things
could have been.

His 'policy' was not at all upfront or reasonably to be anticipated on any
basis of common sense or sanity or business ethics in any way.

And, he was really rude...

I am fine with Gail wishing to let us know of the adventure, so we may
consider whether we too may with to find surprises of some unpleasant kind,
for trying to do business with that company.

I say, he should get the big, old fashioned "Rasberry"...

"B z z z z z z z z z z z p t !!!!!"

Lol-ing...

Yeah, and maybe I over-reacted. (I forgot my meds that day and I think
people at work noticed I was grouchier than usual) :)
He was rather rude, I guess I just felt it was no big deal, and escalated
way out of proportion.
