I tried to post this the other day, but it must have looked like spam or something......

I glad to be back on the list! I was a member back in the early 90's when I was an undergrad who mostly asked silly questions and lurked about. Now I'm a full fledged potter who hopefully has a bit more to offer the group.

In the midst of a huge cleaning I recently found some square pastic bats I made some time ago and barely used. I'd like to offer them for sale. Here's the details:

Approximately 8" square with 10" on center holes

Made from lightweight but very strong air injected PVC sheet with a lightly textured surface that clay sticks to nicely.

edges are sanded and corners rounded for safety

beveled lip for easy lifting from the wheel head

29 bats all together in white, black and a couple blue

I made these myself and they worked very well for me at the time on the shimpo that I was using. I dirlled the holes with a drill press and the use of a hand made alignment jig so the holes line up well, as I remember. You may have to play with them a bit to get a perfect fit, as with all bats made this way. At the time I really liked the fact that they used so much less space on the shelf than round bats. I can send picts to anyone interested. I'd like to sell them all to one party. So, make me an offer. My research tells me that other nicer 7" square bats go for $3.50 each.

Thanks,
