We are looking for a source of Tranco Canadian spodumene. Found a ton of
stuff in the archive about spodumene but not a source. Hope someone can help.

Dear Lynne;

I believe it is TANCO from Canada, and Georgies in POrtland OR has it in
stock. I have been looking around for an east coast source, but finally
gave up and ordered from Georgies for my workshop here in Tennessee. The
main difference between Tanco and others is the phosphorus content, which
can help those 'indian reds'.

Cheers, Hank

I assume this is the Tranco low-melt spodumene that Hank Murrow uses in some
of his shinos. The only supplier we could find is Georgie's Ceramic Supply
in Portland Oregon, at www.georgies.com. Hank is here as a visiting artist
right now, and he just ordered a small amount so that he can mix his
no-soda-ash shino.
Good luck -
- Vince

Hello Vince: Continental Clay in Minneapolis has it also. It might be
cheaper to ship if your in the upper Mid-West. Wish I could have seen
the Hank Murrow workshop.
Cheers,
~Craig
