Hello all.
As mostly a lurker I want to say a big thanks to you all for all the thought
provoking and inspirational posts. I always look forward to getting those
clayart messages.
I will be going no-mail for a month as I am leaving for Japan on Sunday. I
will be going to Kyoto, Osaka, then the pottery areas of Shigaraki, Seto,
Mino, Tokoname, Tamba and Bizen. Yahoo! If anyone has contacts or
suggestions for me when I am in these areas please let me know. I really
want to get to meet some potters and see their workshops. I have a carry on
full of pots to give as gifts and will be travelling with a friend from
Japan.
I will post about the experience when I return.

In Kyoto, I would recommend Kanjiro Kawai's house & museum:
http://www.e-yakimono.net/html/kawaikanjiro.html In Osaka, Museum
Of Oriental Ceramics, Osaka: http://www.moco.or.jp/en/ They have a
spectacular collection of Korean ceramics, maybe the best in the
world.
