Hi Joanne,
I was in Guangzhou in 1984 and am going again this June (on Po Zhou's to=
ur of southern China after I go to the Yixing teapot conference) You wil=
l want to go to Foshan where the Shiwan ceramics are made.
There is a great new book "Chinese Ceramic Cultural Sites, a Traveler's G=
uide" written by Guangzhen "Po" Zhou and Guanlu Zeng that tells of the c=
eramic sites, museums etc in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. It is in Engl=
ish and Chinese which will help if you need directions and you don't spea=
k Chinese. The maps are only in Chinese. I don't remember the price.
I am sure Po will have the book for sale at his Chinese Clayart booth #30=
1 at NCECA. If you aren't going to NCECA you can contact him at his emai=

At this moment Po is taking 9 potters and the vice mayor of Yixing on a t=
our of Las Vegas and LA, Sunday they give a free demonstration of Yixing=
teapot making at the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco 1-4pm. Tues they=
fly to NCECA.
