Brian --

Had a low fever with the first injection of Hep A
vaccine --other than that, nothing. And I have had
some pretty bad reactions to other shots.

Brian,

I have had the hep vaccination and was also told what the side effects
might be,
same as what you found. but...I didn't have any problems, the
injection site was a bit sore but that was more from the way the nurse
jabbed me. I have found that in this litigatious society, they over
warn. if you keep reading the literature, eventually you get to the
point where it finally says what percentage of people have which side
effects. and it is a very small percentage on this. what I found
disheartening was that I was just told that I have to get tested again
to see if the vaccination is still working, they are now saying that
for a lot of people it will only work for a year or two. so be aware
of that.

Good luck and decide before hand that you will not have any reaction,
power of positive thinking and all.

This is a little off topic but i was wondering if any one has had a
bad
experience with hepatitis A-B immunizations. I am
going to the doctor this week to get the first part of the series
before i
travel Sunday to Nagoya.
I am hoping that there will be no problem with side effects. The
information i dug up on the series says sore injection spot
and headache and fatigue for 48 hours and then you should be OK. .....

have problems with yeast issues that's another story.
If any one can shed any light on this please do. I have found a few horror
stories on this subject but would really like to hear what
my clay family thinks. I hope you all have a great time at NCECA this year
and a safe journey for all.

Dear Brian,

I have recent experience with Hep B (not Hep A-B). Hep B is requred by my university for nursing students. We had a series of 3 shots. After the third, I remember my arm being a bit sore, but otherwise, I had no side effects. And, I don't remember hearing any stories about bad reactions from my classmates. There are 68 students in my class.

Have fun in Nagoya. I used to travel there when I had a used kimono import business. It's been 20 years since my last trip there. I wonder whether I would recognize it. I remember visiting the home of a friend's parents. They had a wonderful traditional wooden home with a delightful garden in the midst of it. They were planning to have the house torn down and have a larger concrete home built in its place. It appeared many families were doing that at the time.

Brian, you've waited too late for teh HepA to do you much good; they
recommend it at least 4 weeks ahead of travel to get your body time to
build their little warriors. I got one before Belize. I had a huge
hot knot on my arm for over a week and was kinda tiredish the day after
but otherwise no problems.

Thank you so much for the info. on the immunization side effects. That give
me some comfort ( i hate shots to begin with).
I will be getting it done today so wish me luck.

Thanks again,

Brian
