question for arnold at paragon...

I have a viking 28 paragon kiln and the temp probe has developed a
black crust on it. Do I need to replace this part soon or is it normal?
Occasionally the black crust will flake off and end up on some of my
glazed pieces during firing, not what I wanted. The kiln has been fired
12 times give or take and half have been to cone 06 and the rest to
either cone 8 or cone 10 depending on the glazes I used. All firings
have been done with the kiln vent on and the room sufficiently
ventilated.

Thanks for any input.
