I am interested in a series of glaze formulas by British author Margery
Clinton. How do I interpret Blythe Alkaline Frit 20126 or is there
something comparable to this in USA frits?

Hi Llewellyn,

What you have provided is the molecular unity formula for frit 20126 and
from that I have used calculation software to come up with an approximate
analysis for that frit.

K2O - 2.26
Na2O - 10.10
CaO - 1.57
MgO - 0.15
Al2O3 - 7.84
SiO2 - 64.21
B2O3 - 13.87
Total - 100.00

If there are other frits that are close you can use the above analysis to
find them - or use the analysis to enter that frit into a materials
definition table and thereby calculate new recipes for those glazes using
other frits and materials.

I have looked at the analysis of the frits I commonly use and none are
useable. Look for frits with low CaO and MgO.

Hope this helps - RR
