H.O.T (Handbuilt Or Thrown) CLAY, the U.F. student Ceramics
organization, and the University of Florida's Ceramic Department
welcomes figurative ceramic artist Arthur Gonzalez. Feb. 2-3.

Arthur Gonzalez is a Professor of Art and Chair of the
Ceramics Program at the California College of the
Arts. In his work he explores the age-old myth of
Beauty and the Beast, using clay as a metaphor for
skin and other mixed media to symbolize the spirit.
Gonzalez exhibits nationally and internationally, and
is a recipient of many awards and fellowships,
including the Ford Foundation Grant and four NEA
Individual Artist Awards.

Arthur will present a slide lecture, discuss his
philosophies, and demonstrate his working methods and
techniques at the University of Florida; Gainesville,
February 2nd- 3rd, 2005.
