Porcelain Soft Slab Construction Techniques

With Beth Kendall

Saturday, February 5, 2005;  10:00am – 4:00pm

Porcelain has a distinct personality.  In this hands-on workshop =
Beth will reveal a variety of techniques for handling and manipulating =
this luscious material.  She  will focus on making and =
manipulating thin, soft slabs of clay and discuss some of the challenges =
and advantages it offers.  Participants will have a chance to =
practice the care and handling of porcelain slabs and create  a few =
simple vase forms to take home and fire.



Beth Kendall is a studio artist working living and working in Northern =
Virginia.  She has been working in clay for 14 years and has =
conducted workshops on throwing and glazing techniques across the =
country.   Beth was featured in the January 04 issue of Clay =
Times Magazine. She has exhibits at the M.T. Burton Gallery in Surf =
City, New Jersey, Target Gallery at the Torpedo Factory, and GRACE =
(upcoming) in Reston, VA.  She sells her work in various shops and =
galleries in Virginia and North Carolina.   To view more of =
