Any good hotels in Baltimore that have room and won't cost an arm and leg to
stay at?rtmd .

I remember last NCECA that the Baltimore people tell us there are plenty of
places to stay along the rail system, but try to find them? I am really
unhappy that NCECA can't get enough rooms for those that want them in the area.
Is it just too big these days?

Try the Holiday Inn at Glen Burnie. It is 6 miles from downtown and they
still had rooms this past Tuesday night. They are $119.00 plus taxes, for a
double. I tried the ones downtown and everyone is booked for now. Gary

Pam:
I'm not connected with NCECA (other than as an attendee), but I do
live in a resort town. I've seen the "annual migration" of homo
sapiens for the last 17 years from a "local's" perspective. Humans
are far worse than lemmings, I can tell you. We're more like
locusts, without the cohesion of a swarm.

There are NEVER enough accommodations when "all of a sudden" you
find yourself with an extra 19,000 people in a town. Traffic
becomes a nightmare (for the locals, the visitors don't know any
better), the lines at your favorite restaurant suddenly double or
triple in length, the groceries run out of things like pet food,
toilet tissue, snack foods and beer, and locals run out of patience.

The favorite winter bumper stickers here are "Get a move on, we're
not ALL on vacation." and "If it's really "tourist season", why
can't we shoot them?"

It's not that it's too big, it is just that there are so many of us
at NCECA...and to my way of thinking, room for plenty more .
Bring 'em on!

Pam, you might want to try the Brookshire Suites Hotel, it is only 3 blocks
from the convention center, room with queen size bed is $119 with AAA. Two
room suites with pull out sofa in living room about $150 a night. I just
reserved a room the other day and they seemed to have more available.

I just reserved a suite at the Tremont Park, No 8 E Pleasant St.,
410-576-1200. They tell me it is just a few blocks away.
