opal blue glaze --

John Rodgers asks for a recipe for "Opal Blue",
and gives the ingredients. Says he has been
unable to find it in the archives.

Lili points out that this set of ingredients,
without any quantities, only tells us what
isn't in the glaze; but that is not entirely
accurate.

It turns out that the glaze _is_ in the archives,
with just the ingredients that John mentions,
in exactly the same order. It was posted by Ron
Hollister, and is about halfway down this page:

There is a problem, though, with names like
"Opal Blue". I know of at least 3 glazes with
that name, and there are probably several others
as well. This makes it very difficult to find a
particular one if you don't already know a lot
about it. (I lucked out in my search for the
one that John wanted -- it wasn't one that I
already knew.)

I haven't had time to read everything that has
been posted in the last 2 days, so I just hope
that this doesn't just duplicate stuff that has
already been said by someone else.

Happy New Year, all --
