does anyone have a recipe for "Loucks" or "Lucks" blue? this is a ^6
oxidation glaze, deep blue with nice variation. I adore it and would love
to have the recipe.

This is a recipe from Steve Loucks, an excellent potter
and teacher ... currently in Alabama ... I think ??

Loucks Blue - Cone 6 Ox

Neph Syenite 48
Gerstley Borate 27
EPK 5
Silica or Flint 20
Iron Oxide 2
Cobalt Carb 1
Rutile 4

Steve is an excllent workshop choice. He puts a lot of
thought into his designs and is generous with advice.
His thowing skills are awesome.

Chris Campbell - in North Carolina - Happy day here as I am dipping
cookies in chocolate ... much more fun to clean up these drips !!!

This is the same as good old Floating Blue, which can be found in the
Chappell glaze book, and I'm sure also in the archives under that name. I
don't have it in my head anymore, thank goodness.

Try Floating Blue from Chappelle's book on glaze. It is also in the
Clayart Archives.
I use this all the time.
