improving throwing speed

I just learned a new trick for cranking out more pots in a
shorter amount of time.

Step 1: Drink a pot of coffee and not one of those little 2
cup pots either.

Step 2: Vow that you won't get up from the wheel until you
have completed 10 bowls or 20 mugs or something like that.

Step 3: When you complete the requisite number of pots go
pee. If you quit before the avowed number of pots are
complete because your bladder absolutely undeniably can't
take it anymore you are not throwing fast enough.

Step 4: Repeat from Step 1.

Works like a champ!!!

Earl (url) shares a helpful technique, a version of which I have
employed for some time.

But my version makes me even more efficient.

>When you complete the requisite number of pots go pee.

Since I both throw and pee standing up, I have no need to leave the wheel.

I hope this helps.

too much time on my hands at the beginning of my month or two
recuperating from my hand surgeries before I can get back to my wheel.

And, Maurice, there is an advantage to that. From some of the
threads I've read (here!) peeing in one's clay helps age it, make it
more mature, easier to throw.
Another "plus" to keeping one's clay supply near the wheel.

All you people north of us, please breathe OUT as much as you can on
Monday...to warm it up LOL
