Did anyone else see this episode tonight? I watched, after someone else =
here posted about the kiln. I thought they did a great job with the =
house, all EXCEPT for the studio space! Geez. =20

For those of you who missed it, the family who lived in the original =
house was a mom who has cancer and three female children (teenage =
girls), and if I heard correctly, all three girls have HIV or AIDS. To =
keep them from breathing germy air in the house, ABC went to the trouble =
of putting in some kind of superduper, extraspecial HEPA filter, and =
then put a pottery studio (with all its accompanying dampness, dust, =
mold, kiln fumes, etc.) UPSTAIRS in the house (yes, that loverly Skutt =
was indoors, and if there was a vent I din't see it, but to be fair, the =
camera didn't close in on the kiln at all.) =20

Not very efficient, IMO (they had the Navy Thunderbirds in a 'fire =
brigade' line, passing 500lbs worth of 25lb bags o' clay up the stairs) =
It LOOKED great for television, (it was definitely a nice studio - tons =
o' light, and huge!) but not practical at all.=20

(BTW, I am definitely NOT saying that PWA's should not play in clay, but =
I AM saying I don't think it's a wise choice for inside the house if you =
have immune system issues.)

They gave the family 3 wheels, too (I think they were CI wheels, but not =
sure since so many of the brands look alike now.) I'm guessing that the =
pottery equipment was donated, so HOORAY for the Skutt company and =
whomever made the wheels for the humanitarian effort!!!
