before you use em change the way they act?

Hi all....
This is my story....
I needed that LAST load before a big sale..
forgot to turn the heat on in the garage
beacuse it has been an exceptionally warm fall.

Woke up the morning of the glaze firing to about
1/3 of an inch of ice on all my glazes..10 gal containers
Was too late to get out the horse trough heater,
so I took out my trusty canner and scooped out enough glaze
and ice to fill the canner, hoisted it into the kitchen
and boiled each one in turn, because I didn't want to add more water.

Then I added the hot glaze back to the other containers
and voila ...glazes were melted and fine to use.

Seemed to work just fine...got the load glazed and fired.

These glazes are spectacular!!!....in particular the iron glazes
and the celadon. More crystals, lovely rutile blues.

My question is...would heating and simmering these glazes
have changed the way they acted? Is it perhaps the frozen north's
equivalent to ball milling?

Other than my husband's wrath at waking up to a pot of glaze
instead of oatmeal ( i was careful and clean don't worry)..
this may be the way to go.

Any comments or feedback appreciated.

Kathy
