avery kaolin update #3

updated wed 1 dec 04

If you are one of the kind few that requested a sample of the new Avery
type kaolin, and you don't have a sample by the end of the week, then send
me a note with a UPS address and I will get you a sample. Some of you did
not send me a UPS address and I was unable to locate an address for you and
you possibly didn't respond to my email, or I simply messed up. Ron Roy - I
had to wait out a UPS strike in Canada but your sample did go out finally.

Still some questions on how and where the material will be produced, but
the collective imput of you testers will be important. Even if the demand
is very small, I will do my best to somehow make it available to those who
would like to use it. The entire exercise has been a real education for me.

Thanks to everyone. Please let me know what you think. No problem posting
good or bad results, or you can email me direct.

If any of you who want an Avery substitute and need samples of Helmer Kaolin
for comparison, call your local supplier. There are more dealers coming on
board every day. Cone 10 Products in St Louis just got a ton of the new
airfloated Helmer Kaolin along with 100 lbs of the Albany slip replacement
we mine. It is a little lower in calcium than the actual Albany so it has a
slightly higher melting point but that gives room for adjustments!
