i have placed a picture of my favorite chatter
tool on my website, clayart page, bottom.
(you can look at the pots/top two
refired this weekend at the farm. cone 12
no reduction. used the tiny stoneware kiln to
refire about 25 not so good chinese glaze pots.
all 25 turned out great. racers all.)

anyway.
take a large piece of strapping metal medium thin.
bend over the end at a right angle. sharpen it, really
reallllly, really sharpe. keep it sharp. use a small bastard file
or sand paper glued to a block of wood.

let it bounce just a bit as you trim. it will start
to dig in deep and bounce more.

bison tools will bounce too, as they are sharper than
what people are used to. so, in the case of bison, you
have to take care not to have them bounce.
