Hi all;

I'd like to know where to get Orton Cones and the self supporting cones in
the US or UK.

The self supporting cones - are they any good? I'm tired of making cone
packs.

TIA

May,
In the UK, they have Orton cones at any ceramics supplier (e.g.,
www.potterycrafts.co.uk The Clay Cellar:
http://www.freenetpages.co.uk/hp/dougywatts/ or www.the-clayman.co.uk to
mention just a few.

I have not seen self supporting cones sold here, and have no idea how well
they work but in the USA you can get them (as well as the regular Orton
cones for MUCH less than we get them here) from www.bigceramicstore.com
They also offer a 4 Hole High Temp Plaque for Standard Cones (costs $0.5 or
about 25pence...) which I've ordered. I will be happy to let you know how
it works when I get back from Thanksgiving in the US with my pottery
goodies!
They ship internationally too, if you're not planning on being in the US
anytime soon (or would rather not "import" your own supplies).

I get my self-supporting cones from Clay Art Center in Tacoma, WA.
They ship them fast (easier than driving up there, though it's not
far). I imagine most US clay suppliers have them.

I resisted self-supporting cones for awhile because I thought they
looked hokey, but now I think they are awesome, and I kick myself
when I run out and have to make cone packs from old regular ones I
have around.
