kiln meltdown

Ron Roy asked me to forward this message to Clayart.-Arnold Howard
-----------------
This makes sense to me - I start my soaking as the final cone is just
starting to bend - I then go into a soak and watch the cone bend to where I
want it - if I want it half down - about 20 min. of soaking will do it.

I also occurs to me - I have a two zone control system - which means the
firing is even from the start. If other parts of the kiln - away from the
cone - are hotter - the cone bend may well happen faster. If other parts
are cooler - then it will probably take longer.

An interesting subject for some experimentation.
