i just received today this new ceramic book,
titled: MAKING MARKS by robin hopper.
it is full of beautiful pictures and plenty of
great information on all kind of mark making.
it looks like one of those 'must have' clay book.
since there will be no clayart for the weekend
i am going to read this book, where
i saw already that a number of clayarters' works are
included with some fabulous pictures...

I'd like to second Marta's comment about this book. I just got mine because
I'm one of those Clayarters with pictures in it that she mentioned.
Many times on this list we've seen people decrying the fact that, while
there are lots of books about glaze materials or glaze chemistry, and even
on how to fire various kinds of glazes, there has not been a book on how to
apply glazes. This is it, just what you've been looking for. It's a
beautiful, thorough book, and Robin's biggest book to date. It's a tour de
force by a master potter and author.

Dear Paul Lewing,
You say, "....there has not been a book on how to apply glazes.....>>
Sorry old Pal, many times in this list the name of Greg Daly has been
mentioned together with his book "Glazes and Glazing Techniques" ISBN
0-86417-502-7, 1995. PP 90-135 covers the basics.
