Dear Karen -
I twould be concerned that this might promote the idea of art as something
lofty and holy. I believe that anyone who perseveres and develops
confidence in themselves can produce fine art. It just really isn't that
big a deal. You work hard at it, and eventually everything comes together.
As you know, most of the best things in life require hard work.

I have no objection to anyone's belief in their own particular gods, but I
do not believe there is any "art god." To me, it just doesn't seem
consistent with the natural, personal, intuitive nature of the creative
process.
Best wishes -
- Vince

I do not intend to offend anyone's religious beliefs...

But does anyone feel as though the opportunities of
Working in art...is somehow guided by a force that I
Think of as the Art God?
Somehow when things are moving along well....there seems to be
A random opening up....as though events slide into
Existence that promote one's progress? I attribute that
To the art god facilitating one's good fortune.

The flip side of the coin... Misfortune...
I am wise enough to consider a rough patch
Not a mandate to stop working...never the less....
A test of my determination.....
A signifier that I have to re-define my commitment.

Just a thought

Hi Karen,

I feel you are on to something...

Or...to earn the attentions of the Graces, is also to know
something of sympathy with them...

While to loose their attentions...is to earn, or maybe
learn, something of
remourse...
