I received an advertisement in my email today (maybe did not opt out when registering to read the NY Times online) that got through and piqued my curiosity. It was about Teachers College at Columbia University and through that I read a reference about Arts Education in NY City Schools. The article is at http://www.tc.edu/news/article.htm?id=4755 I wonder what anyone who lives there can say about the reality in the classroom. Also, is anyone familiar with the Heritage School? http://www.heritage-school.org/

It feels to me that there are quiet centers of hope amid the cacophony of our mass media culture.
