it went right past me.

wayne, did we catch you.?
man, i loved his reply.
i laughed out loud....tears.

so, sorry gang.

Mel,
I get at least 10 of these a week. I did not get them before I joined the
list. This is not a gripe. There is so much of interest on the list that I
just use the most important key for them. DELETE, after I have blocked the
sender.
Thank you moderating the list and providing a forum for such diverse ceramic
information.

I have been getting the African scam letters for quite a while. I can
generallly tell what they are by the subject line and delete them without
opening. If I do open them by mistake, as soon as I see the word Nigeria or
Zimbabwe, out they go.

Rather than just deleting, I go to the Message box and hit Bounce. This
sends it back as undeliverable due to incorrect address. At least you
won't get any more from that source.

Whoa, Lou, how do you do that!? Do you use OE, or...? I don't see that
option on my Message links, though I do use Block Sender a lot...

Interesting. What email program are you using, Lou? I am using Outlook
Express and don't see any way to do that....only can block sender. My
provider does mark such items as scam however and then I can delete quickly.

I believe this trick was posted some time ago, or I learned it from a
friend. If you right click on the email, a frame will open so then left
click on Properties at the bottom, then left click at the top on Details, a
text only message will open. You can then make sure it is a scam message
and not one from a legitimate inquirer. This then does not let the sender
know that you opened the mail.

Hi Lou,

If you have AOL how do you find "bounce"?

Thanks,

I don't have bounce, is it the same as block sender?
