Hi!

I'm glad I found this list - it's super active and now it's not so
hard finding ceramic people to talk to.
Well, my name is Cathy, I'm 17, and a senior in HS. I'm taking my
third year of ceramics and LOVE IT! Love it so much. I was denying the
artist in me for a long time, and just last Thursday I decided, "what
the heck, i'll major in ceramics since that's all I truely enjoy."
Sooo I hopped online, did a lot of research on colleges, and stumbled
upon this list. Some of the topics you guys cover I've no clue about,
but that's great because I can get exposure to stuff that I probably
won't learn in HS. I'm a thrower, and am not too fond of sculpting.
Well, just wanted to say hi!

Hi Cathy...welcome to the list! You are so lucky to have your high school
offer ceramics. Our local one (small town) discontinued their program years
ago.

Sounds like you really love clay, as do I. I also prefer throwing, but
realize that the possibilities in claywork are infinite, and it's a nice
feeling knowing there is so much more to explore.
