There is still room in our Josh DeWeese workshop on October 9 - 10. This
will be a wonderful workshop, with a small group of participants and hands-
on wheel time. The workshop will take place at the Hambidge Center, located
in northeast Georgia, aprroximately two hours away from Atlanta, Athens, and

The Expression of Pots

October 9-10, 2004

This workshop is for developing a personal language with pottery as a form
of expression. The class will include demonstrations of different techniques
for making pots on the wheel, and discussion about the role of pottery as a
contemporary art form. Ideas and information for surface treatments and
firing techniques will be discussed and shared. Slides of the artists work
and of the Archie Bray Foundation will compliment this two day workshop.



Josh DeWeese is a ceramic artist and the Resident Director of the Archie
Bray Foundation for the Ceramic Arts in Helena, Montana. DeWeese studied
ceramics at Montana State University before going on to receive his BFA from
the Kansas City Art Institute and his MFA from the New York State College
of Ceramics at Alfred University. He has received several awards for his
work, including a Montana State Arts Council Individual Artist Fellowship.
DeWeese has exhibited and taught workshops internationally and his work is
included in public and private collections around the world.
