attaching slip for slipcast porcelain

Hi all,
Just a quick, very basic question regarding slip casting, with which I am having my very first, very tentative experience.
Which is better for attachments, a flocculated or a deflocculated attaching slip, and should it be made directly from the casting slip?
Thanks for your help!

Dear Dave Finkelnburg,
I like to use deflocculated clay to join pieces which I thrown and to
attach handles. Have done so for over ten years. But I let the defloc
slip thicken to a thick cream consistency before I use it.
I believe it works well because of the low volume of water and the
extreme high volume of clay in this thick fluid. At times it seems as
instantaneous in its activity as "Super Glue".
Best regards,
Ivor Lewis.
