Tile Mosaics Class - Part II=20

Back by popular demand! Join resident artist Alfredo
Ratinoff as he teaches and guides participants on how to create 3
dimensional tile mosaics. Students will create their own imagery on
pre-fired ceramic tiles, then learn how to incorporate those tiles with
other found pieces to create a design onto a three dimensional form.
Pieces will then be grouted into place to complete the work of art .
Participants will be encouraged to focus on use of color design, and
texture on form, taking into consideration the function and location of
their three dimensional mosaic tile work.
Alfredo Ratinoff was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He
studied at the National School of Ceramics in Buenos Aires, and then in
Madrid, Barcelona, and Florence. He has been an Arlington resident for
over 10 years and now resides in Washington, DC. He specializes in
large murals and has been commissioned extensively throughout the U.S.
and by major corporations. He has done many tile /mosaic workshops
throughout the DC Metropolitan area and has recently been featured in
several articles in the Washington Post.
