Join us as Leah demonstrates her throwing techniques with
Porcelain as well as off-wheel manipulation and paddling. She will
explore various ways of making handles, spouts and lids in an
adventurous, playful, and creative atmosphere. Her methods of surface
decoration will be demonstrated including working with slips and carving


Leah Leitson is a studio potter in Asheville, North
Carolina. She has a BFA in ceramics from New York State College of
Ceramics at Alfred NY and a MFA in ceramics from Louisiana State
University in Baton Rouge. She has conducted many workshops throughout
the u.s including Concentration at Penland School of Crafts, Arrowmont
School of Crafts, etc... She is currently adjunct faculty at Warren
Wilson College and UNCA . in Asheville, NC. Her work has been
published in numerous ceramic magazines (Ceramics Monthly, Art and
Perception, etc...) and books.
