Dear Friends,
I have at last located a source of rock rich in Anorthite, Calcium =
Aluminium Silicate, which is said to contain a small proportion of mica, =
given as "B Grade Labradorite". This is in lumps.
Now I only need about ten kilos to last me forever but the contract =
would be for twenty tons as a container load at about $Us 0.50 per =
kilogram, say five hundred dollars a tonne.
This has to be a commercial wholesale proposition. So is there any one =
on the list who would like to push the boat out and make the investment =
of say $Us 10,000 plus freight and charges?
Some of you may wish to know what would the potential be as a Ceramic =
raw material. Well, Anorthite is being presented in industry as an =
ingredient for Whiteware Clay Bodies. It is also one of the components =
of the famous 1170 CaO-Al2O3-SiO2 melting mixture when combined with =
Wollastonite and Silica.
Any interest there, write to me privately for contact details.
Best regards,
Ivor Lewis.
