I heard from Nan Kitchens (finally) and she seems well
situated for this storm at least.... the one behind it may
be a different story. She's doing fine I was so pleased to
hear. Life changes happening (as with all of us) but she's
going with the flow and sounds terrific.

Josie (Cracked Pot) hasn't been able to access Clayart.
Josie is on the west coast of Florida which for now is
doing "okay." She barely got through the last flood...
not looking forward (to say the least) to another. BUT
the good news is that she is on the "dry side" ... doing
well.

And Wayne I hope is in Vermont or wherever it is that
he has returned to for now. I so think of Wayne as
a Floridian .... turns out he's a New Englander ..
amazing. I have trouble with the image of an Up Home
Yankee wearing colorful boas on car trips to NCECA.
A lot I know.......

If you haven't looked at Mel's last firing, don't miss it.
Incredible!!! AND it's oxidation!!??? If I weren't
already head over heels with the "old" Chinese glazes,
I would be now...... well, in this case, must be old/new
...... even better.

In the Mojave where it's cooler.... not cool, but cooler..
enough that I took the westie into town and was able
to leash her to a table leg on the Casa Java patio. We
could see each other just on the other side of the glass....
and I only left her for 10 minutes...... but she was
thrilled! First thing you know we'll be able to walk in
the park or the Radamacher hills .... she's just too
short to fare well on our sandy dirt road though further
out where the sand is packed tighter, she's a bit
less uncomfortable.
