Ron, I envy you your trip to Turkey. I lived there for 4 years when I was
a teen. My family lived out in the Turkish economy off the military base.
We saw lots of the country that westerners never see because of our
friendship with locals. We lived in Adana in the south eastern part of the
country. Traveled the roads that Alexander the Great traveled, went to
places where Cleopatra met Marc Anthony. Visited ruins where Christians
were thrown in pits to be fed to lions for sport for Romans. History
everywhere.

Hello Melinda,
I am not going to Turkey, but did go to Thailand with Denys James and
his group last January. I only knew one other person, but it was
really wonderful. A small group of 12 with similar interests, we all
got along. It was a great trip. I would recommend his travel tours
to anyone. Web-site http:/www.denysjames.com
I know that you will have lots to tell us when you get back.

Lucky you! That is one of my number one fantasy destinations. All
those layers of culture dating back so far in the mists of time.

Enjoy and get back to us with all the great sites you will visit.

I went to Thailand with DenysJames and Liz last December. I helped plan
the tour and find the potteries. The tour, Denys' first to Thailand and
the first tour I had been on or helped plan was well run. Some of the
best moments of my life, short of things with my family, took place on
that trip. I am jealous of your upcoming trip and would love to see
Turkey from the other side of a tour. Bring images of your work,
family, home, studio, to show to people you meet.
We are taking a return trip to Thailand in December of 2005.
