on talent, persistance, tenacity, glazes and websites

Ok, this should probably be several different messages, but it's past
midnight and it's just going to be one.

On talent. Talent certainly would be nice, but if the talent isn't there,
persistence, stubbornness, tenacity and passion can go a long ways towards
making pots. Practice, practice, practice and practice some more. One thing
I'm missing is someone to critique my pots - help point me in a good
direction.

Glazes. I made an error mixing up a test glaze. Of course it turned out
gorgeous. I'm now on my 60th test trying to figure out my error. Again,
persistence, stubbornness, tenacity and passion, and maybe a little
stupidity on this one. The upside is that I'm finding out a lot about what
happens when you leave out, add a little more or a little less of a variety
of chemicals in a glaze recipe.

Websites. I did the basic design for my website, and learned enough html to
make change in the pages. Of course, being rather stubborn, I wanted to be
able to do the whole thing myself. So, I got books on html and Dreamweaver.
Read them several times (seems the older I get, the longer it takes to learn
something). I just redid my whole website in Dreamweaver. This proves that
anyone out there can create a website. Again, just takes persistence,
stubbornness and passion and suddenly realizing it's 2 a.m. and your still
at your computer.

Now, if a few of you with various browsers would help me check some things.
If you've seen my previous site, do the photos load faster? Also in the line
across the top that has the links to pages, is it centered vertically
between the top and the black horizontal rule on the first page or is it
centered on the other pages. It's in a different position on the first page.
When I view the file on my computer it's one way and when I view it from the
internet it different. Please send me a message about this privately though,
no need to clog the list with "the first page looks right" or "the other
pages look right" "or "it just isn't right." Anyway, thanks for any feedback
you can give me to fix this. And the website is

One more firing then it's off to visit grandchildren in Wisconsin - and a
visit with Bacia too. And I'm still working on a response to my shino
problems - just have to get some coherent thoughts together - will take
ages.
